INTERVIEW WITH PAGE 9
Whats your view on the “failing music industry”? Do you really think   its failing, or do you think its just changing?
definitely changing. The format switch between physical and digital sales in music has definitely thrown the music industry for a loop. In my opinion, once the music industry decides to take as harsh a stance on pirating as the movie industry does, we’ll be in a much better place. The music industry will never fail unless humanity ceases to exist :)What made you guys decide to only have two band members, and have  touring members to fill in the gaps?
basically, we’ve worked with quite a few lineups in the past and have had people leave the band because they didn’t realize how much work it took or they weren’t cut out to tour, etc. It always hit the fans pretty hard since we’ve always portrayed our band as a family, so we decided to keep the family just us two for a while. It’s been alot less stressfulIf someone had never heard your music before, what would be a good   song for them to listen to in order to really get a good impression of  your music?I think anything from our new EP would sum up our band and our sound perfectly
What song/artist do you normally listen to to get you pumped up, or to  put you in a better mood?between the both of us, we literally listen to everything. Highlights would definitely include Daft Punk or The Red Hot Chili Peppers.Do you think the era of vinyl is really over, and there’s no chance for   a comeback?on the contrary, it’s on the rise again. The fact that Lady Gaga and a lot of superstar artists have releases on vinyl proves that pointDo you ever find it hard to get inspired? If so, what helps to get you  over that and moving again?every writer gets blocked every once in a while. I just try to relax and let inspiration come to meHow did you come up with the name ‘Page 9’?Well, back when we first started the band, the boys and I [Josh] were sitting around at a local Chili’s. Right as we got our food, our original drummer, Kris, who’s catholic decided he wanted to bless the food. So, we were like, “Aight.” Kris then decided to pull out his book of prayers since he apparently didn’t have them memorized. After about 3 painstakingly long minutes of our delicious food staring back at us while awaiting what better have been the best blessing our ears had ever beheld, he finally blurted out, “oh! here it is! on page 9”. I then made the comment, “OK, can we just name the band that, so we never run into this problem again?” and that’s basically it. So we always say it’s kind of an ode to the fact that we love food & Jesus =] What’s your favorite way to listen to music? iPod/mp3 player, CD, or  vinyl?most often, I tend to listen to itunes on my laptop or album streams on purevolume or myspace music while I’m talking to fans or promotingWhat are some of your favorite music magazines? (or just magazines in  general)Rolling Stone and Alternative Press :)Out of all the songs you’ve written, what is your favorite?I don’t think I could choose a favorite. It’d be like choosing your favorite child, haha
